Our restoration workshop is always an eclectic mix of cars, from pre-war race cars to modern off roaders and everything in between. Such as this, a 1968 Daimler 250 V8 which our technicians have been working on at our Suffolk HQ.
Here’s what Jon’s been up to:
”Attend to broken bonnet cable. Remove front number plate holder and remove grill. Access broken cable and remove. Remove inner cable ready for new. Sort and fit new HT leads and secure. Fit new end to King lead at coil end. Test, all ok. Run wire in for power supply to Lumenition electronic ignition unit. Feed through clips that hold loom and fit terminal to end. Cut unit wire and fit terminal. Join wires and shrink wrap. Connect to fuse box and test, ok. Tidy wiring and tape to loom. Cable tie in places where I can’t tape it to loom. fit new bonnet cable. Feed inner cable through old outer cable still in position. Adjust lock and test, ok.”
