1964-1972 – The Golden Age of American Muscle
The Golden Age of American V8 muscle cars marked a defining moment in automotive history, when bold designs and high-performance vehicles became cultural icons.
It all began in 1964 with the Pontiac GTO, often considered the first true muscle car, offering a potent V8 engine and affordable speed.
These cars, like the Dodge Charger Daytona, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Chevelle SS, and Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda, packed over 300 to 450 horsepower under the hood.
