The MR2 can trace its history all the way back to 1976, when the Toyota engineers wanted to combine an enjoyable drive with the necessary fuel economy of the time. 8 years later, the world would be introduced to the now-named MR2 – a lightweight, nimble and capable sports car with reliable and economical engineering.
Through 3 hugely popular generations, the MR2 became an icon in the daily-usable sports car market. This car, our 2004 Toyota MR2, is part of the 3rd and final generation of the car. First registered on the 4th of February 2004, our MR2 has lived a cared-for and cherished life – showing just a shade under 27,000 miles in its 22-year life.
Powered by a 130BHP, 1.8-litre VVTi inline 4-cylinder engine, a manual gearbox and a kerb weight of less than 1000kg, our MR2 has got some period, JDM upgrades, including a true TRD (Toyota Racing Development) front and rear strut brace kit, as well as a Blitz NuR-Spec R exhaust system, carbon fibre engine cover.
With striking red paintwork with a contrasting, stylish and understated black and red interior (including TRD dress up pieces) with upgraded exterior grilles from the team at Zun Sport and a black folding soft top roof.
With a history file dating back to 2005 (in which the car is logged at Marshall Toyota in Cambridgeshire with a mileage of just 3192 miles in its first year) and containing multiple invoices, MOT certificates, and parts manuals.
Now is your chance to win this sensational early 2000s low-mileage sports car with a unique style and presence sure to turn heads this summer.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we run all of our competition cars on synthetic fuel. This is a like-for-like fossil-free alternative to petrol that reduces emissions by up to 80%. This can be mixed with traditional petrol and no modifications to the car are required. You can fuel this car with traditional petrol – we simply use synthetic fuel as part of our sustainability goals.
