Based on the R8 200/400 Series, under the code name ‘Tomcat’, the Rover Coupe was launched at the Paris Motor Show on 6th October 1992. Of all versions available, the most powerful was the 220 Turbo. It was one of the most powerful production Rovers ever built, with 197bhp giving it a top speed of around 150mph and a 0-60mph time of six and a half seconds.
Since being in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop, our 1994 Rover 220 Turbo has had some paint repairs completed, as well as some other minor repair work.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we run all of our competition cars on synthetic fuel. This is a like-for-like fossil-free alternative to petrol that reduces emissions by up to 80%. This can be mixed with traditional petrol and no modifications to the car are required. You can fuel this car with traditional petrol – we simply use synthetic fuel as part of our sustainability goals.
