For many people, the Yamaha FS1E was the bike “back in the day”..
It represented the first taste of freedom, independence, and life on two wheels. Our 1989 Yamaha FS1E is particularly special as it comes from the very end of the model’s UK production run.
By the late 1980s, the FS1E was already becoming a rarity. Changing learner laws and emissions regulations meant Yamaha’s 50cc two-stroke engine was coming to the end of its time on the road, making late-registered bikes like this one increasingly hard to find today. Finished in the correct late-model blue and white Yamaha livery, this is a genuine UK-market FS1E.
It has Yamaha’s air-cooled 49cc two-stroke single-cylinder engine. The engine carries the correct 8F0 prefix, confirming it as a late-production FS1E motor, and it sits in an original Yamaha frame with authentic factory stampings.
Our FS1E has also benefited from documented engine work, including new bearings and a rebore with piston replacement. It has also been fitted with a period Micron aftermarket exhaust. Micron systems were a popular upgrade back in the day, so this is a nice nostalgic touch.
