The word ‘icon’ gets used a lot in the classic car world, but the classic Mini is well deserving of that title – especially the fabled Cooper S.

First appearing in 1963, the Cooper S would sit at the top of the rung for factor performance Mini’s. Showcasing their prowess with the celebrated Paddy Hopkirk, Timo Mäkinen and Rauno Aaltonen behind the wheel at the Monte Carlo rally with wins in 1964, 1965 and 1967 cementing the Cooper S into motorsport and petrolhead folklore alongside being used on track by legends such Sir John Whitmore, Jack Brabham, Graham Hill and so many countless others.

This car, a beautiful deep red with contrasting black roof 1968 Mk2 example of the Cooper S, is in truly incredible condition. Originally built on the 8th of April 1968, and finished in Sandy Beige & Snowberry White with a Black interior, the car comes with British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate as well as an extensive history file which details major works undertaken in 2008 and 2009.

As part of this, an engine built by Jonspeed Racing Ltd, was fitted to the car – with full details of the specification included in the cars history file.

The car is fitted with later Mini seats, however the original matching black units are supplied with the car.

This incredible piece of British motoring heritage, and a motorsport legend, could be yours – get your tickets now!
