Our 1958 Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite Mk1, affectionately named ‘Alice’ by a previous owner, is finished in Iris Blue and is a fantastic classic.
Built in 1958 and originally shipped to South Africa as a CKD kit, the car was assembled in Blackheath before returning to the UK in 2001. The car has never been restored, only lovingly maintained and sympathetically refreshed to extremely high standards.
It is a right-hand-drive example that has been in the care of enthusiast owners, including a long-standing Austin Healey Club member who ensured that the car received the care it deserved. In 2011, the engine was rebuilt with new internals, twin SU carbs, and a full repaint in its factory Iris Blue.
The interior features blue seats with black carpets and a matching tonneau cover. The car also has a rebuilt gearbox, fresh chrome, and a range of refurbished mechanical components.
Our Frogeye comes with a huge history file, including Goodwood entry documents, concours records, period magazines, and a huge collection of photographs of its continental adventures, including a 13-day, 3,000km European tour.
