Our 1955 Jaguar XK140 is a rare right-hand-drive example and is number 61 of just 843 UK-market Fixed Head Coupes built. First registered on 2nd April 1955 and supplied by Henlys London and Rose & Young Ltd of Streatham Hill, it was purchased new by Duncan A. Layton, who was a founding member of the Jaguar Drivers’ Club.
Our XK140 has covered around 76,000 miles from new and remains extremely original. It is finished in its original Black with Red leather upholstery and has been well cared for over the decades, with documented maintenance covering much of its life.
Recent work includes an engine overhaul and conversion to unleaded petrol, carried out by A.H. Motorsports at 68,589 miles. It had a facet fuel pump fitted at 73,756 miles, a replacement water pump, timing chain and sundry gaskets at 74,520 miles, electronic ignition at 75,430 miles, and a new clutch at 75,958 miles.
It comes with its original buff logbook, service book, sales brochure, and a collection of historical records.
