Bridge Classic Cars Completes Successful Theatre in Education Tour Reaching Primary School Children Across Suffolk For Free
Suffolk, UK – Bridge Classic Cars successfully completed its first Theatre in Education tour, bringing live performance, storytelling, history, engineering and sustainability into primary schools across Suffolk at no cost to the schools or parents.
Delivered completely free of charge to participating schools, the programme ran throughout spring 2026 and introduced hundreds of children to The Story of Rilee, an original educational production created by the Suffolk-based classic car restoration company.
The interactive show follows Rilee, a 1905 classic car, as pupils discovered how vehicles from the past can continue to play a role in a more sustainable future. Presented by characters Max and Molly, portrayed by professionally trained actors, the production combined live theatre with hands-on workshop activities designed to support learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
The programme explored themes including local history, engineering, problem-solving, innovation, environmental responsibility and sustainability, helping children engage with real-world topics in a creative and memorable way.
Craig Ranson, Managing Director of Bridge Classic Cars and creator of the project
“We wanted to create something that would genuinely capture children’s imaginations while also giving them meaningful educational experiences. Watching pupils engage with the story, ask questions and become excited about history, engineering and sustainability has been incredibly rewarding.
The response from schools, teachers and pupils has exceeded our expectations. What started as an idea to bring classic cars into education has become something much bigger, helping young people understand that preserving the past and building a better future are not mutually exclusive.”
The tour was made possible thanks to the support of Bridge Classic Cars and its partners, including Lancaster Insurance Services, enable.services, Electronic Terminations, Riduna Holdings and GB Refinish Supplies Ltd, whose backing allowed schools to participate at no cost.
The success of the programme has helped establish Bridge Classic Cars Kids as an innovative educational initiative, combining storytelling, theatre and automotive heritage to create engaging learning experiences for young audiences.
Bridge Classic Cars hopes the project will continue to inspire conversations around history, sustainability and innovation for a long time to come.
