FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 2025
Suffolk, UK – Bridge Classic Cars is excited to announce a new initiative designed to inspire children to explore the world of classic cars, their history, and sustainability. The project launches with the debut of its first children’s story: The Story of Rilee – The Little Burgundy Vintage Car, which is based on the real-life restoration of a one-of-one 120-year-old car.
Rilee is an old classic car brought to life in an interesting short story. It takes young readers on a journey that is all about friendship, acceptance, and kindness, as well as introducing the concepts of sustainability and the importance of history.
This first story introduces a cast of three characters, Rilee, Luxy, and Eco – each one with a different story to tell. Eco runs on sustainable fuel, Luxy is a classic car converted to run on electricity, and Rilee, in its original form, runs on petrol. These characters highlight the innovative ways classic cars can adapt to a changing world, mixing tradition with forward-thinking solutions. The project fits perfectly with Bridge Classic Cars’ larger mission of making classic motoring accessible while leading the industry toward sustainability.
Craig Ranson, Managing Director of Bridge Classic Cars and creator of Rilee, said:
“I love history, it is one massive, incredible story that plays such a huge part in all of our lives. Right now, we are making history and adding our piece to that story. Future generations will go on to benefit from, learn from, but also be affected by the decisions we are making.
This is a project very close to my heart, and I am immensely proud of what we have been able to produce.
I would absolutely love to see The Story of Rilee on our bookshelves, in our schools and on our screens, teaching the younger generation the importance of a sustainable future…and maybe, one day I’ll hear a young child shout ‘there’s Rilee’ when a vintage car drives by.”
The launch of The Story of Rilee is the first step of this new venture. The Bridge Classic Cars team hope to turn this first story into a children’s book and, ultimately, a character that children can interact with in various forms. The initiative is part of the company’s efforts to ensure that the love for classic cars continues for generations to come, while also addressing the pressing need for environmental consciousness in motoring.
The Story of Rilee is available to listen to, in full, on the all-new Bridge Classic Cars Kids YouTube Channel. It is hoped that it will also be available in printed book form later this year.
