After being won by Derek last week, our 1971 MG Midget has been in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop to be checked over and made ready for its new owner to take delivery of this week.

Our restoration technician Jon has been heading up the project. After carrying out his usual PDI check sheet, he could move onto a few repairs on the car such as topping up the gearbox oil and stripping back and rebuilding the rear brakes on the classic car.

”Start repairs. Put jack and tyre inflator kit in boot. Check reverse lights. Disconnect and short out wiring. Turn ignition on and check. Lights working so requires a new switch. Repeat for brake lights. Short out switch and lights work with ignition on so also requires new switch. Strip and remove old fuel pump and pipes. Drill and mount new pump on rubbers. Cut pipes to length and fit. Make new earth wire and connect to pump and bolt to body. Connect live wire and test.”
