The Bridge Classic Cars team are making progress everyday to getting the 1953 Aston Martin DB2/4 back on the road for the first time in decades. Our technician Steve, who is the primary technician on this project, has been getting the freshly rebuilt engine ready for its first fire up.

‘Because we were getting ready for the initial start up I checked for top dead center using a dial gauge to make sure the flywheel timing marks are correct. When setting ignition static timing I notice the distributor mechanical advance weights were a bit stiff so they were disassembled, cleaned and greased. Also I’ve done a base set up for the carburettors that will need fine tuning later.’
