Pirelli is temporarily halting production at its two UK factories. The brand has said that current market conditions are the reason behind the decision.

Operations at the Burton-on-Trent plant in Staffordshire will stop from Friday 24th October 2025, with the Carlisle site in Cumbria stopping on Sunday 26th October 2025. Both facilities are expected to be offline for six days.

Pirelli have stressed that the closures are temporary and that it has no plans to permanently stop its UK-based operations.

Approximately 1,200 people work at the factories shutting down, with over 900 of those based in Carlisle.
