Morgan Motor Company has introduced the Supersport today. This will now be its new flagship model, and is built on the all-new CXV aluminium platform, The Supersport delivers enhanced torsional rigidity, refined suspension, and improved steering for a more connected and engaging driving experience.

A Modern Take On Traditional Design

Staying true to Morgan’s philosophy of functional design, the Supersport reinterprets the brand’s classic silhouette with modern surfacing and reduced complexity. It features a sculpted aerodynamic form with prominent front and rear wings that hint at its enhanced performance. The lightweight aluminium body panels are all, as you would expect, handcrafted by Morgan’s in-house team.

There are two roof options – an interchangeable carbon composite hardtop and a folding mohair soft top. A newly added boot and increased stowage behind the seats increase the new car’s touring capabilities.

Technology

Morgan integrates modern conveniences without compromising its classic aesthetic. The Supersport has an enhanced Sennheiser audio system, hands-free calling, and wireless smartphone charging. The cockpit design features hand-finished materials, with 11 different wood trim options for door cards and dashboard elements.

The analogue dials, crafted by the historic Caerbont company, use Morgan’s bespoke ‘HFS’ font. These dials, while traditionally styled, operate using advanced CAN and LIN communication systems.

Performance

Under the bonnet of the Supersport is the BMW B58 TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine, delivering 335bhp via a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. The newly designed CXV platform not only enhances overall rigidity by 10% but also provides near-perfect balance and improved handling dynamics.

A revised suspension setup, paired with an updated steering system, ensures precise feedback and greater responsiveness. Morgan offers an optional Dynamic Handling Pack, featuring adjustable Nitron dampers and a limited-slip differential for an even sharper driving experience.

The Supersport’s lightweight construction extends to its new alloy wheels. The 18-inch ‘Superlite’ wheels weigh just 10.8kg per corner, while the optional 19-inch ‘Aerolite’ wheels reduce unsprung mass further at just 9.7kg per wheel. Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres complete the package, providing exceptional grip and control.

Coachbuilding for the 21st Century

Morgan remains committed to its heritage of handcrafted excellence while embracing modern materials and techniques. Each Supersport is built at the company’s historic Pickersleigh Road facility, where aluminium bodywork is carefully shaped over an ash wood frame. In keeping with sustainability efforts, 60% of the aluminium used in the chassis and body is recycled.

Customers can personalise their Supersport with an almost limitless range of colour combinations, trim options, and bespoke features, making sure every car remains completely unique.

The Morgan Supersport is available to order now, with prices starting at £85,000 (excluding local taxes). First deliveries are expected soon, with test drives available from mid-April. For more details and to configure your Supersport, visit Morgan Motor Company.
