As the team discovered a leak in the original fuel pump on the 1980 Toyota Hilux, they have come up with a new way of keeping this fabulous truck looking totally original.
‘Fitted new fuel pump, tested and found that carburettor float was sometimes sticking and cutting fuel off. Noticed that carburettor float was just catching on fuel bowl and needed a small amount of material removing to stop this. Set up timing and carburettor but engine felt a bit fluffy removed plugs and checked cylinders compressions and noticed no 2 and no 3 were a bit lower possibility due to it has not been run an a few years. Engine has been run a few times now and feels a lot better.’
