The Bridge Classic Cars team have been chipping away at the job list on our 1987 Maserati BiTurbo. Jon has been working on refitting the engine, and its twin-turbos, into the engine bay of the car. Once he was starting to run the pipe work, he noted that the nearside turbo was crocked incorrectly. With many oil fed turbochargers, the housing has to be in the correct position to let the oil feed in and out of the turbo. But, in order to do that Jon had to move alot of components out of the way.
”Continue to clock turbo. Remove engine mount and bracket to access final 2 bolts. Use gearbox stand to hold engine. Lower subframe. Remove manifold and pull away from engine. Now Remove mounting bracket. Access turbo bolts and clock turbo inlet around to match boost pipe angle. Secure turbo bolts and refit all items in reverse order and secure.”
”Finish securing subframe etc. Fit rivnut to chassis for anti roll bar bracket. Leave alternator off until intercooler boost hoses arrive, for easier access.”
