Moving Along – Repairs on the 1991 Jaguar XJS

Jon, one of our amazing technician here at Bridge Classic Cars, has been working his way through the list of jobs on the 1991 Jaguar XJS.

”Connect new fuel sender and test. Works OK. Fit new sender and seal in tank. Refit boot trims and spare wheel. Put battery on charge. Fit new washer pump and test. OK. Refit wheel arch trim cover in offside arch. Secure front bumper chrome and offside headlight chrome. Fit nearside exhaust. Remove tailpipe from old silencer. Fit new section above rear axle and fit rear silencer. Adjust all so no contact made with any components and secure all joints. Fit tailpipe. Start up OK. Get off ramp and take outside to warm up. Adjust idle speed vua Aac on nearside. Runs OK. Cooling fan cut in OK. Drive around yard and bring back inside to change coolant. Remove bottom hose and leave to drain over lunch.”

”Refit and secure bottom rad hose. Tidy area. Vacuum fill system with new anti freeze mix. Run up and fo through gears and check automatic gearbox level. OK. Remove offside throttle shaft and replace bush with grommet. Refit shaft and test.”
