With attention turned to the braking and cooling systems on our 1978 MGB GT, Ben replaced the master cylinder and then bled the brakes through until there was a properly firm, solid pedal. He also bled the clutch, making sure that side of the hydraulic system was correct at the same time.
Around the engine bay, Ben removed the thermostat housing so the cooling system could be thoroughly flushed through, clearing out the build-up of gunk that had collected in the system, before replacing the hoses. As fresh coolant had already been used for the MOT, it would have continued to flush its way through the car as the system settled.
To finish off a few smaller but important details, Ben fitted a new distributor cap and rotor arm, and spaced out the interior door switch so the courtesy light now switched off as it should.
