Jonn fitted a new ignition switch to our 1984 Morgan 4/4. As the wire colours on the replacement switch differed slightly from the original, he first identified the function of each wire. He then removed the existing multi-plug connector and soldered on new bullet terminals to suit. These were connected to the car’s wiring, and the system was tested to confirm correct operation. Once verified, the switch was fitted to the ignition barrel and tested with the key, functioning as expected. Jonn then taped up the wiring loom and secured it with cable ties for a tidy and reliable installation.

He also addressed a noise from the alternator belt that had occurred during the first start-up of the day. The belt tension was adjusted, initially found to be slightly too tight, so he slackened it off marginally and tested again, with the final result proving satisfactory.
