MGB GT Servo

Jonn fitted a new offside rear axle strap to our 1972 MGB GT before mounting a new servo to its bracket. The bracket required modification to achieve a proper fit. Once adjusted, the servo was installed and secured.

While working, a speaker in the nearside footwell was found hanging down, having broken off its bracket. A new hole was drilled, and the speaker was screwed back onto the bracket before being refitted in the footwell. The servo securing strap was then installed, and the brake system was manually bled. As the pedal remained poor, the procedure was repeated, but there was little improvement.

A pressure bleeder was set up, and the system was bled again, resulting in a firmer pedal, though there was still excessive travel. The car was taken outside for a short drive around the yard before being brought back in. A final pressure bleed was carried out at every union on the car to further improve brake performance.
