As preparations were made to deliver our 1978 MG Midget, Jon carried out a full PDI, beginning with inflating the tyres to the correct pressures and torquing the wheel nuts. On checking the engine, he noted the oil level was too high, so he removed the excess via the dipstick tube before rechecking to ensure it sat correctly within range.
He then took our 1978 MG Midget outside to drain the coolant system, refilling it with fresh antifreeze to ensure proper protection and performance. Turning his attention to the carburettors, Jon removed the suction chambers and carefully set the jet depths before reassembling the components and bringing the engine up to temperature.
With everything back together, he carried out a road test, and on return made final adjustments to the idle speed while lubricating the throttle linkage.
