The third model in McLarens ‘1’ car lineage is making its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025. There will only be 399 examples of the McLaren W1, and all of them have already been allocated. This means that the Festival of Speed will likely be your only chance to see one up close for yourself.
Being joined at Goodwood by the F1 and P1™, the W1 is a 1275PS V8 hybrid supercar engineered for road and track. It features rear-wheel drive and active aerodynamics inspired by Formula 1 ground effect technology.
2025 also marks 30 years since McLaren’s first victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. To celebrate the anniversary, the #59 McLaren F1 GTR that won in 1995 will take part in the hill climb, being driven by one of its original race winners, JJ Lehto.

As part of McLaren’s racing legacy, the new 750S Le Mans edition will be shown to the public for the first time at FoS. Limited to 50 units, the car includes a new High Downforce Kit developed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), giving it enhanced circuit performance and echoing the design ethos of the original F1 LM.
Also returning to the Goodwood hill is the Solus GT. This track-only single-seater, powered by an 840PS 5.2-litre V10 and weighing under 1,000kg, is making its third consecutive Goodwood appearance. A customer-owned version of the hypercar will be on show, highlighting MSO’s bespoke approach to design and personalisation.
Festival of Speed attendees will also have the chance to see two special edition models: the 750S and Artura MCL38 Celebration Editions. Both were created to celebrate McLaren’s 2024 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship win, and only nine examples of each will be made. Finished in MSO-designed Papaya Orange and Anthracite liveries, the cars will take part in dynamic runs during the event.
McLaren is also celebrating ten years of its ‘LT’ (Longtail) series with a display of models from its Heritage collection. As part of the global ‘Celebrate LT’ programme, these cars will appear in the Supercar Paddock and join the event’s high-speed runs.
The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place from 10th to 13th July at the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, UK.
