Jonn removed the subframe and front suspension from our 1987 Maserati BiTurbo as a complete assembly. He then stripped the components to install new anti-roll bar link rods. Using a crane, he lowered the engine onto the subframe and aligned it with the mounts, securing it in place with the appropriate bolts. With assistance, the assembled engine and subframe were rolled under the vehicle and aligned. Jonn then lowered the car onto the frame. To create more working space, he removed the air conditioning condenser and dryer.

With Anthony’s help, Jonn secured the engine and subframe assembly to the car. To ensure proper alignment for the final bolt, he used a scissor jack against the offside front chassis and suspension, carefully shifting the chassis rail by 5mm. Once aligned, all subframe mounts were fully secured.

Jonn then began identifying the location of remaining components, removing the air filter box and inlet manifold to allow access for installing the starter motor into the vee of the engine. He secured the starter motor in place, then connected and secured the steering pipes and knuckle. Wiring was routed around the engine bay and down to the alternator. He also stripped out and removed an air conditioning pipe, as the offside turbo outlet had been fitted at the wrong angle, interfering with the pipework.

Chris has also sandblasted various engine components ready for them to be painted in DTM black.
