Thanks to a generous gift from local businessman Guy Nicholls, Kesgrave is getting a brand-new BMX pump track. It will be built in early 2026, and Guy, who leads the Tru7 Group, is funding the entire project himself at a cost of over £100,000!
A pump track is a special type of looped path made for bikes, scooters, and skateboards. It has bumps and turns that you can ride around without pedalling, you just “pump” your body up and down to keep moving. It’s fun, fast, and helps kids build balance and confidence.
Guy grew up in Kesgrave, and now he wants to give something back to the place that helped shape his life. The original plans for the track were approved in 2024, but then Guy and his team redesigned it to be more exciting and safer for young riders, and the new plan was given the go-ahead by East Suffolk Council in 2025.
The pump track isn’t just about having fun, though. It’s also about helping kids stay active, healthy, and off their screens. Instead of scrolling through endless videos, young people will have a place to race, learn tricks, and play with their friends outdoors.
The town council can’t wait to see the track come to life with help from expert builders, Clark & Kent. Neither can we!
