The last motorcycle ridden by the late Dave Myers, one-half of the Hairy Bikers, is going to be sold at auction for charity. The 2023 BSA Goldstar, which featured in The Hairy Bikers Go West (the last ever series of The Hairy Bikers) will be for sale with H&H Classics at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull on Wednesday, 26th March 2025.

Proceeds from the sale will be donated to two charities – CancerCare North Lancashire & South Cumbria and NSPCC Childline.

Dave sadly passed away in February last year after a battle with cancer. The auction of his much-loved Goldstar in aid of two important charities seems like the perfect tribute to his life and passion for motorbikes.

Ahead of the auction, the motorcycle is on special display at the National Motorcycle Museum, complete with life-size cutouts of Dave and Si King, as well as Dave’s riding leathers, helmet, and boots.

“The auction of Dave’s BSA Goldstar is a fantastic way to support two charities who do incredible work.
We hope to raise as much as possible, so would encourage interested bidders to dig deep into their pockets for the chance to own a truly special motorbike.”

Liliana Myers, Dave’s widow

The Hairy Bikers series ran for two decades and turned Dave Myers and Si King into national treasures. Their big personalities combined with their love of biking and food proved to be an extremely popular format. Millions of people watched the show and just as many people were saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. Fans and potential buyers can view the bike at the National Motorcycle Museum in the lead-up to the auction. Bidding will take place in person, via telephone, or online on the 26th of March, with commission bids accepted beforehand.

“The auction of his bike represents a unique opportunity for someone to own a piece of motorcycling history while celebrating Dave’s enduring legacy. We hope this display will resonate with fans and visitors, reminding them of the joy and inspiration Dave brought to so many.”

James Hewing, National Motorcycle Museum director
