Former Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button is returning to the Goodwood Revival this year, where he’ll be racing his own 1962 Jaguar E-Type in the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) TT Celebration. Taking place from Friday 12th September to Sunday 14th September, the Revival is always one of the biggest motoring events of the year.

The RAC TT Celebration, which originally ran from 1960 to 1964, features the fastest and most iconic GT cars of the period. Button, who last competed at the event in 2022, is excited to take on the competition once again.

“I am delighted to be coming back to the Goodwood Revival in September, for the most enjoyable weekend of racing of the whole year. In fact, I love it so much, I have bought my own car to take part! I am very excited to be racing my ‘new’ Jaguar E-type in the TT. I can’t wait.”

His 1962 Jaguar E-Type was previously raced by BRDC life member Ed Nelson in the 1965-66 seasons at Nürburgring and Mugello, and was the final Jaguar prepared by renowned tuner John Protheroe. Known as “CUT 8,” the car continued competing into the early 2000s and last appeared in the RAC TT at Goodwood in 2013 under a different owner.

“The TT is a firm favourite amongst our competitors and spectators, so I’m sure everyone will share my excitement that Jenson has bought his very own Jaguar E-Type to compete in this year. I look forward to seeing him in action!”
