Having arrived back at the Bridge Classic Cars workshop here in the Suffolk countryside, the workshop team have been checking over the 1973 MGB Roadster since it was won once again through one of our classic car competitions. With the winner choosing to take the cash alternative, the team prepare the car exactly the same regardless of its next adventure. Here’s what Jon has been doing:
‘Carry out nut and bolt and check over. Nearside headlight not working. Strip and Heck. Has voltage at plug but won’t light the bulb. Check wiring. Trace fault back to connector at offside. Replace connector and test, ok. Refit headlight.’
‘Carry out nut and bolt check. Tighten everything. Fit nuts to gearbox mount and secure.grease all points. Torque wheel nuts. Check choke and adjustbarm at carbs. Check fuel level. Fit roof. Use hot air gun to warm roof window panels and smooth out. Hoover out and wipe over.’
