The 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 was won early this week, however the winner decided to take the cash alternative – which still means the team have got to get the car prepared and ready for whatever happens next.
”Carry out check over/pdi. Start repairs. Inflate tyres and knock up wheels. Grease all points. Check charging, OK 13.4v. Check wiring to alternator as ignition light will not extinguish. Found bad wire at alternator. Make new wire and fit. Still the same. Clean connectors at regulator and recheck. 14.2v but light still on. Disconnect relay and light goes out so suspect faulty relay. Washers not working properly. Fill bottle. Reconnect pipe and test. Both jets facing wrong way so adjust. Nearside works butfound offside off jet behind dash frame. Fit screw to pipe and leave as is. As unable to reach jet without stripping dash. Tighten connections to offside front side light. Remove passengers seat and remove outer runner as captive nut pulled through and seat insecure. Straighten runner and clean. Fit repair washer behind split and refit runner and secure. Refit seat.”

”Fit new fuse for main beam test and refit panel. Set each carb jet depth to approx 2mm and refit chambers. Adjust throttle linkages so all carbs act together. Bleed clutch. Seems ok but needs testing outside. Bleed brakes. Again feel OK but ned testing. Find keys to fit door locks.”
