The Honda 0 Series Saloon has been awarded the “Best EV Design” title at the 2025 Top Gear Awards.

First shown at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, the 0 Series, with the first models being the Saloon and SUV prototypes, shows off Honda’s “Thin, Light, and Wise” design philosophy.

The 0 Saloon’s design creates a “one-motion” silhouette, a single smooth line running from front to rear, coupled with a low, wide stance and upright glasswork that creates an airy feel inside. Despite its compact, sporty profile, the cabin is more spacious than it appears, thanks to clever packaging and minimalist styling.

Inside, a simplified human-machine interface (HMI) keeps things intuitive. The ASIMO OS, named after Honda’s humanoid robot, brings personalised interaction to a whole new level, adjusting in real time to the driver’s mood and preferences. It also has level 3 automated driving for hands-free operation in certain conditions!

“The 0 Saloon and 0 SUV prototypes unveiled at CES 2025 both look incredible. They’re gloriously futuristic in their design, and we’re told that they’re 95 per cent ready to enter the real world. Honda says it’s taking a “Thin, light and wise” approach to developing the 0 Series, and it’d certainly be wise to get this pair of EVs onto our roads ASAP.”

Production of the Honda 0 Saloon is scheduled to begin in 2026, with a European launch expected in 2027. It will lead a family of seven new electric models rolling out globally by 2030, starting with North America, then Japan and Europe.

“We’re incredibly proud to receive the ‘Best EV Design’ award from Top Gear. This recognition is a testament to the passion, creativity, and relentless innovation of Honda, pushing boundaries to redefine what an electric vehicle can be.”

Rebecca Adamson, Head of Automobile at Honda Motor Europe UK
