The Bridge Classic Cars team have been diving into the 1980 Toyota Hilux here at our Suffolk HQ. Our technician Steve, who previous worked for Toyota, has been taking chanrge of the project. Restored a few years ago, the pickup truck has sat dormant for much of the time.
‘This had not been started in a few years so the fuel had gone off and was drained, fuel lines flushed and fresh fuel put in. Float hight was also out and needed adjusting as fuel was not getting through. Also noted that the battery would not accept charge and the plates were warped.
Carried out short test on site and noticed the fuel pump was leaking and needs replacing before we can set up engine and carousel further tests.’
