As the team prepare to start the 1954 Aston Martin DB2/4 project, our technician Ben has been going through every part and piece that arrived with the car here at the Bridge Classic Cars. Each piece has been inspected, catalogued and safely put away. The heavily damaged pieces, Ben is going to researching as to whether they’re able to be repaired for the car.
‘As this car has come to us in bits I have to work through all of the chrome and make sure we have everything and can source any other bits that are beyond repair. Having the other aston in the workshop is a great help as I can compare the parts I have. There are also pictures of swarf in the tank that will have to be removed and the rusted valves and ports on the cylinder head which indicates it has been sat for a while, at this stage the engine is an unknown.’
