A new name (sort of) has entered the sustainable fuel sector as FU3L has officially launched.

Formerly P1 Fuels, the now UK-owned company produces advanced synthetic fuels designed to offer high performance without reliance on carbon credits. Instead, FU3L aims to make sustainable fuels more accessible and practical for everyday and specialist use.

Currently, the company sees three clear options for powering vehicles and equipment: fossil fuels, battery-electric, and sustainable fuels. FU3L’s biofuels are engineered to be compatible with existing engines and machinery, requiring no changes or modifications to be made.

FU3L’s fuel is developed from second-generation biomass, and, under its previous name, has powered cars in the World Rally Championship, FIA World Karting Championships, and the Formula Regional Oceania Championship with Toyota Gazoo Racing. Outside of motorsport, the company intends to extend its reach to road transport, marine, aviation, and remote applications.

FU3L’s product line includes EN228 fuel and a formulation compliant with the Japanese Industrial Standard, meaning its fuels can be used in petrol cars on today’s roads. In motorsport, it’s FIA-approved too.

As production was already happening under its former name, production capacity is not a challenge. In fact, its accessibility that remains the biggest challenge to overcome. FU3L plans to expand its distribution and dealer network across the UK and Europe to make sustainable fuel more widely available.
