After checking over the 90’s Coupe, our technician Jon has set to work on carrying out the various repairs around the 1996 Bentley Continental R here at the Bridge Classic Cars restoration workshops. In the checkover, Jon noticed that the rear caliper had several issues – so a new one was ordered and once it arrived he could get to work on making sure this luxury land yacht can stop as well as it goes. And then, it was moving onto the other list of repairs to be carried out to get this luxury icon back to as good as new.
‘Rear caliper arrived, so jack up and remove offside rear wheel. Caliper has 6 ports so draw diagram for reference. Strip and remove handbrake arm at inner end as clevis seized at caliper end. Clean all bolts etc.’
‘Fit caliper and secure. Refit brake pads. Resecure pipes and cable tie abs wire to pipes. Adjust handbrake links. Tidy area and check LHM level in tanks under bonnet.
