During the test drive of the 1994 Rover 220 Tomcat, our restoration technician Steve noted quite alot of freeplay in the gear linkage. So, as the 1990’s turbo coupe made its way back to the Bridge Classic Cars restoration workshops inside our Suffolk HQ the team were determined to find out. After a thorough and complete inspection, Steve noted that the joint in the linkage was worn and would need a replacement. However, new parts for these aren’t available so Steve modified a joint to fit and retested the car with this job ticked off.
