The Bridge Classic Cars team have been carrying out some of the final repairs on the 1989 TVR Tasmin before it could head to its new excited owner.
”Refill cooling system with vacuum tool. Run up and check for leaks. Replace cap with old one from stock. Fan not working. Check wiring. Found bad terminals and connections. John rewire fo me. Shrink wrap and secure. Fan over ride switch under column now functions OK and Fan runs when required. Fit bonnet. Clean car and wipe over. Carry out road test. All seems OK. No leaks. ”
”We ran the car up to temperature and weighted for the fan to cut in. After a while with the fan not cutting in as we would have liked we investigated the cause of the problem. The power supply and relay operation was okay and the fan worked when the relay bypassed. The wiring and connections were checked and found to be corroded. The terminals where then replaced and the system was then rechecked and found to be working okay.”
