Our workshop manager, and all round electrical guru, John has been getting to the bottom of a slightly annoying issue with our 1992 Lotus Elan here at the Bridge Classic Cars HQ.
The drivers side window, went down but then wouldn’t go back up. So, John got his multimeter out and began to get to the bottom of the problem. Removing the door card, John checked the motor and found that although it was getting power there was no current. So he could move his search the various relays which control things like the windows. After inspecting the specfic relay, it was found to be faulty. After checking operation after replacement, all worked perfrectly.
