The final Land Rover Defender Heritage Edition is currently up for auction with Collecting Cars. It is also the fourth-to-last Defender of any kind to leave the production line.
Built on 29th January 2016, the final day of Defender production, this Grasmere Green Defender 90 has covered just 4,597 miles since new. It remains in original condition and has had only one private owner, backed by comprehensive documentation and a number of magazine features highlighting its significance.
Created to honour the original 1947 Series I prototype, HUE 166, the Heritage Edition is finished with an Alaska White roof and features heritage-style detailing throughout, including a period-style grille, body-coloured steel wheels, and HUE 166 graphics on the front wings. Inside, the nod to tradition continues with cloth seats including heritage tags, a perforated leather steering wheel, and Bright Aluminium trim.
Only 400 Heritage Edition Defenders were built for the UK market. This particular example, being the final one made, makes it even more special.
“Special edition Defenders like the Heritage consistently attract strong interest from bidders all over the world. They capture everything people love about the classic Defender, with the reassurance of being factory-built and carefully specified from new. As the last one to roll off the production line, this is quite literally the ‘ultimate’ Defender Heritage, and as such represents an unmissable opportunity in the market – so we anticipate strong interest from collectors.”
Edward Lovett, founder of Collecting Cars
