With it’s new owner eagerly awaitings its arrival, the Bridge Classic Cars restoration team have been working on getting the 1955 Jaguar XK140 ready to meet its new home. Our technician Jon began working his way through his meticulous check-list on the car starting from the headlights, all the way to the end of the rear bumper and everywhere inbetween.

”Carry out pdi. Restick fuel flap seal. Remove clean and regap plugs. Check cold start. Set both carbs jet depths and take outside and warm up. Adjust carbs. Carry out road test. Return to yard slow idle speed down. Fill with synthetic fuel. Noticed minor exhaust blow from manifold to downpipe flange on rear manifold. Leave to cool.”

”Use hi temp sealer to seal flange and bolt back jnto place. Leave to set. Run up an hour later briefly to check and rear flange now OK but minor leak on front also. Attend to other exhaust downpipe flange. All nuts loose and won’t tighten. Remove and clean flanges. Apply sealer to gasket and mating surfaces. Refit flange with new nuts and washers and tighten. Leave to set and try in half hour.”
