Ferrari has revealed the new Amalfi Spider, a front-mid-engined 2+ convertible that adds open-top driving to the Amalfi line-up. Unveiled in Maranello on 12th March 2026, the new model pairs Ferrari’s twin-turbo V8 with a fabric soft top designed to preserve both the car’s proportions and its day-to-day usability.
Power comes from Ferrari’s 640hp twin-turbo V8, while the chassis package includes brake-by-wire, ABS Evo and active aerodynamics. Ferrari also says the car uses a three-position rear wing to support stability, with an integrated wind deflector to improve comfort when driving roof-down.
One of the Amalfi Spider’s biggest talking points is its soft top, which opens in 13.5 seconds and can be operated at speeds of up to 60km/h (around 37mph). When stowed, the roof is just 220mm thick, helping the car keep 255 litres of luggage capacity with the roof closed and 172 litres with it open.
Inside, Ferrari has kept the dual-cockpit layout and a 2+ seating configuration, with rear seats intended to add practicality as well as occasional passenger space. The cabin also brings back physical steering-wheel buttons and Ferrari’s start button, while the wind deflector is built into the rear bench backrest and operated electronically.
In simple terms, the Amalfi Spider looks to follow the same formula as the coupe, but with the added appeal of open-air driving and very little sacrifice in usability.
