Progressing further with the engine bay of our 1987 Mercedes 500SL, Jon studied reference photos to determine the correct placement of components before securing them in position once satisfied with their alignment. As each part was addressed, he cleaned the associated pipework and applied lacquer to preserve the finish and protect against future corrosion.

Working through the bay, Jon also cleaned sections of the wiring loom already fitted to our 1987 Mercedes 500SL, paying close attention to the connectors to ensure good electrical contact. Alongside this, he sorted through stored boxes and retrieved parts from the shelves, organising and identifying the correct items needed to continue the reassembly process.
