The beautiful 1939 Jaguar SS100 that is currently in the Bridge Classic Cars restoration workshop at our Suffolk HQ has been getting checked over and appraised by our technician Jon after spending the summer being driven. Jon began with a brief road test of the pre-war sports car and confirmed that there was brake squeal, so once back in the workshop Jon could get the car up on the ramp to go wheels off and inspect. Once all 4 wheels were off, Jon could go round all of the grease points and check over before beginning to strip down the brakes on the car. Once he got to the offside-rear brake drum, he found that the shoes were smooth, hard and quite worn on the outer edge. Jon stripped back all of the brake shoes so the car can remain mobile.

Once they were done, Jon could start to check over the exhaust beginning at the manifold. He found that both downpipes were loose so he cleaned and resealed them.

Jon continued his work on the 1939 Jaguar SS100 by removing the exhaust system from the car. With the whole system removed from the car, Jon could get to work cleaning the downpipes due to the baked on oil and giving him a chance to inspect and straighten the heat shields on the car. The flanges were also cleaned up and inspected.
