The Bridge Classic Cars team have been working on the 2010 Jaguar XKR at our Suffolk HQ. The car has come in with a parking sensor fault – being a modern classic, the team have used our new diagnostic computer to dive in and find out whats going wrong.

‘Plug in and carry out diagnostic check. Rear and clear stored codes in parking system. Re read codes. All front sensors have a permanent fault. Check via Live data and all sensors not reading. Start car and message instantly says “parking system not active consult dealer”. Button flashes 6 times and system deactivates. Further investigation required.’

‘Investigate parking sensors not working. Fault codes indicate issue with all 4 front sensors. The chances of all 4 sensors malfunctioning at the same time is very low, so suspect wiring or module issue. I did some research last night but it didn’t really help much. Unable to find module in car. Can’t find it in boot behind trims or passengers footwell. So go straight to front bumper. We did paint front bumper a year ago so need to check multiplug connection. Removefront bumper complete. Found multiplug clip missing so plug could easily come apart. Check continuity of bumper loom to all sensors from multiplug. All check out OK. Place bumpernearcar and plug back in. Use cable ties to se ure plug. Start car and check. Parking system now working fine. Refit front bumper and secure. Refit trims in boot and passengers footwell. Refit nearside front wheel and torque up. Get off ramp and Clear fault codes and no codes returned. Test system again and all working as intended. Park up outside. Repair carried out on 19/2/2026 @ 84048miles.’
