Further work has been carried out on the strip down of our 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Volante, with additional bagging and tagging of parts. Each component has been assessed by Pete upon removal to determine whether refurbishment or replacement is required, and the parts list has been updated accordingly.
The windscreen has now been removed, allowing for a closer inspection of what initially appeared to be structural rust. However, upon further assessment, this has been confirmed as surface rust, which will be straightforward to address while the windscreen remains out.
In the engine bay, the strip-down process is nearing completion, with preparations underway for dry ice cleaning. This will allow for a more detailed inspection of the paint condition and rust protection measures.
