British model, David Gandy, has become the owner of the very first Wood and Pickett Mini by CALLUM. This comes as the result of a bespoke collaboration that reimagines the classic Mini with modern features.
Originally unveiled in Warwick, the car was most recently on display at Heveningham Concours and is the beginning of a partnership between design house CALLUM and coachbuilder Wood and Pickett. Built on a restored Mk5 Sportspack shell, the Mini is a stunning tribute to the iconic classic but has been made usable on today’s roads.
A Brand New Classic
Externally, the Mini has been reshaped with custom front and rear valances, updated side sills, and a redesigned rear for improved aerodynamics and cooling. The Anthracite metallic finish, exclusive to CALLUM, is hugely attention-grabbing. The new light housings and original Wood & Pickett arches clearly give a nod to the car’s heritage.
Inside, there is a redesigned dashboard, inspired by Wood and Pickett’s “Margrave” interiors, Tan Bridge of Weir leather, metal trim detailing, and bespoke seats finished by CALLUM. A custom piano-key switch pack adds extra character to the cabin, too.

Performance
Powering the Mini is a rebuilt 1310cc Stage 3 engine producing 110bhp, paired with a reengineered gearbox and ECU. The engine has a performance cylinder head, twin-point injection, and a twin-exit exhaust with an upswept tailpipe.
Handling has also been upgraded thanks to a modern suspension setup, 13-inch alloy wheels designed by CALLUM, and vented 8.4-inch disc brakes. There have also been refinements made relating to noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).
Ian Callum CBE, design director at CALLUM
“The Mini is one of the most important cars ever created not just for its innovative engineering, but for what it represents culturally as a symbol of British ingenuity and style. It’s a car that broke the rules and became a global icon. To reimagine it through the lens of CALLUM, with Wood and Pickett’s craftsmanship, has been deeply rewarding.”
David Gandy’s New Car
David Gandy worked directly with the CALLUM design team to personalise his car.
“The Wood and Pickett Mini by CALLUM embodies everything I love about automotive craftsmanship, bespoke, attention to detail, and, of course, performance. I’m proud to be the first owner of such a remarkable vehicle.”
David Gandy
Starting at £75,000, each Wood and Pickett Mini by CALLUM is hand-built in the UK and individually customised. No two will be alike, as each owner will collaborate with the design team to create their own vision of the Mini.
