Jon carried out an appraisal on our 1966 Daimler V8 250, beginning with checking fluid levels before heading out on a road test. However, upon reaching the workshop gate, a significant noise became immediately apparent, prompting him to return straight to the workshop for further investigation. With the car raised on the ramp, he inspected the underside and identified that the offside rear leaf spring was making contact with the chassis. He adjusted its position to provide the necessary clearance before lowering the car back down.
A second road test showed a marked improvement, although some noise remained, leading Jon to return once more and continue with the appraisal process. He completed the inspection, including checking the rear axle oil level, before inflating the tyres to the correct pressures.
Jon then removed the wheels to inspect the braking system, cleaning components where required before refitting the wheels. He secured the spinners and carried out a final check of tyre pressures, ensuring everything was set correctly.
