CUPRA has made its one-millionth vehicle just seven years after the brand launched in 2018. The car that took them into the first million was the CUPRA Formentor e-HYBRID, finished in Magnetic Tech matt, built at the company’s Martorell HQ in Spain.
The Formentor is a fitting car to take CUPRA past the one million mark, as it was the first model developed entirely in-house. It is also the brand’s best-seller and Europe’s top-performing A-CUV. To celebrate, CUPRA is raffling off a Formentor e-HYBRID to one of its employees for a three-year use period. Once its time on the road is done, the car will become part of CUPRA’s historic vehicle collection.
From Zero to a Million in Seven Years
Since its launch, CUPRA has positioned itself between the mainstream and premium markets with a focus on bold design and performance. In that time, it has built a seven-model lineup, including the Ateca, Leon, Born, Tavascan, and Terramar, with the Raval joining in 2026 as CUPRA’s next step in making EVs more accessible.
“Reaching the milestone of one million CUPRA vehicles produced is a demonstration to the bold vision and relentless passion that drives our brand. Producing this landmark car in Martorell, the heart of our industrial transformation, reflects our commitment to innovation, electrification, and the future of mobility. CUPRA is not just a brand it’s a movement, and this achievement adds another chapter to the brand’s growth momentum in terms of volume, markets and portfolio,”
Markus Haupt, CEO of CUPRA and Executive Vice-President for Production and Logistics.

Electrification and Performance
The Formentor e-HYBRID, which became the one millionth CUPRA car, has a 1.5 litre TSI engine that works alongside an electric motor and a larger 19.7kWh battery, delivering 272PS (200kW). It also demonstrates CUPRA’s new design language, complete with shark-nose front styling, Matrix LED lighting, and an illuminated rear logo.
Inside, the car has updated materials and design elements across the dashboard, doors, and centre console.
Martorell
CUPRA is leading electrification efforts across the Volkswagen Group’s operations in Spain. Backed by a €10 billion investment, including €3 billion for Martorell alone, the factory is being prepped to start production of the CUPRA Raval and Volkswagen ID. Polo from 2026. A new €300 million battery assembly plant is also nearing completion on site.
This year, CUPRA added new City Garages in Vienna and Manchester, bringing its global presence to 12 locations. The next step in the brand’s plan is expansion into the Middle East.
