Land Rover Classic is bringing back the icon of the Classic Defender V8 Works Bespoke Soft Top. This hand-built, made-to-order model brings the spirit of the legendary Defender Soft Top back on to the road.
Built on the short-wheelbase 90 chassis and available exclusively through the Works Bespoke service, this is the first soft-top Defender from Land Rover since 2016. Each vehicle begins life as a donor Defender (originally made between 2012 and 2016) and undergoes a full transformation at the hands of Land Rover Classic’s engineers.
Each one is powered by a 5-litre V8 petrol engine generating 405hp and 515Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The chassis is fitted with uprated suspension and Alcon brakes to match the increase in performance.
The soft top is inspired by the final Defender off the Solihull line in 2016 and is available in four colours, Black, Sand, Dark Khaki, and Navy, and can be configured in two styles, including a smaller Bikini Hood option.
There’s a 49-colour paint palette and match-to-sample paint service available to choose from, along with a variety of interior leather combinations. Other optional extras include things such as onboard wine coolers and bespoke surfboard racks!
Buyers will also have a choice of wheels – classic 16-inch Wolf wheels in Black or Limestone, or modern 18-inch Sawtooth alloys.
