The 2005 Porche 911 which arrived recently at the Bridge Classic Cars HQ, has been on the ramp for our classic car technician Jon to check over.
”Carry out appraisal. Remove side skirts so able to raise on ramp and continue inspection. Check gearbox/axle oil a d top up. Remove all wheels. Wheels stuck on hub centres so knock off. Inspect tyres and brakes. Start redrilling discs to unblock holes.”
‘Finish drilling discs. Blow out dust. Clean all wheel bolts as quite corroded. Clean and lube wheel and hub centres and refit wheels. Clean all brake pipes from flexi hoses to calipers. Lower to floor a nd torque wheels to 120nm. Inflate tyres to comfort setting of 32psi front and 40psi rears. Put locking wheel nut key back incentre armrest. Put tyre fluid in toolkit and take outside. Warm up and carry out road test. Management light briefly came on but went off almost immediately, otherwise OK. A bit noisy and clonky but it’s a convertible so to be expected.’
