The Tokyo Auto Salon 2025, currently being held at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, Japan, has the Caterham all-electric concept car, Project V, on display. Project V is the result of a collaboration between Caterham and XING Mobility

IMMERSIO™ CTP Battery System

Project V uses XING Mobility’s IMMERSIO™ CTP (cell-to-pack) battery system. This technology eliminates traditional module structures, resulting in reduced weight, enhanced energy density, and improved vehicle performance. Key features of the system include:

  • Lightweight Design: The elimination of the traditional module structure significantly reduces weight while increasing energy density.
  • High Performance: Advanced thermal management ensures reliability during extreme driving conditions.
  • Flexibility: A flexible battery design enhances weight distribution and vehicle dynamics.
  • Space Efficiency: The system fits perfectly within Project V’s streamlined chassis.
  • Safety: Immersion cooling technology protects against thermal runaway.

“As a longtime Caterham 7 owner and enthusiast, it is an incredible honour for us to collaborate with Caterham on this pivotal step in their electrification journey. Caterham’s philosophy of simplicity and lightweight design perfectly aligns with our vision for innovation, simplicity, and efficiency. We are confident this partnership will open a new chapter for the electric driving experience.”

Royce Hong, Founder and CEO of XING Mobility

“We are so confident that XING Mobility’s immersion-cooled battery technology will be becoming one of the key technologies for battery cooling in the automobile industry in the near future. I am looking forward to further collaboration between XING Mobility and Caterham. It is really exciting.”

Takuya Yamazaki, CEO of Caterham Evo

Project V

After making its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2023, Project V has generated a lot of global interest and looks to be a great example of the future potential of all-electric sports cars.

The car will be on display at Booth No. 703 in East Hall 7.
