Ben and Steve fabricated a new frame for the rotisserie to mount securely to the chassis subframe mounts, as well as the rear bumper and front anti-roll bar mounts of our. Jonn fitted new bungs and gaskets to both carburettor float bowls and ensured they were securely in place. He then refitted the carburettor assemblies to the manifold and tightened all fixings. With the ignition key turned on, he checked for any fuel leaks, finding none. To build oil pressure, the engine was cranked over for […]
Our restoration workshops are always busy with cars coming in and out of our Suffolk HQ. Today, we’ve welcomed a pair of arrivals from very different eras. The first belongs to our director, Craig, whose Range Rover has developed a slightly coolant leak which our workshop teams will be looking into. Along with that, a […]
Jonn investigated a non-start issue on our 1963 Fiat 500 and found that the starter motor had once again come loose. When attempting to disconnect the battery, the bonnet release cable broke, but he was able to open the bonnet manually. A replacement cable will be required. After disconnecting the battery, Jonn removed the starter […]
Jonn inspected the driver’s side rear window slider lock on our 1968 Austin Mini Cooper S and removed the existing lock. Although new replacement parts were available in the vehicle, they differed slightly from the original specification. As a result, Jonn refitted the original lock and enlarged the hole in the trim to ensure proper […]
Adam has been giving our 1973 MGB Roadster some attention in the Bridge Classic Cars paintshop. After painting the bonnet hinges, he then polished the car ready for the next stage of its restoration.
Jonn replaced the rotor arm and refitted the distributor cap of our 1968 Austin Mini Cooper S. He then tightened the steering wheel and removed the floor mat from beneath the pedals. Topped up the coolant and checked the oil level, which was satisfactory. Carried out a walkaround inspection and moved the vehicle outside to […]

It’s always a strange feeling getting to photograph cars everyday. For many of our restoration projects, I’m there at the beginning – shadows of their former selves which arrive for our restoration team to bring them back to a former glory, and then I find myself at the end – gleaming, beautifully finished and individual […]
Our 2010 Land Rover Defender has always been a fantastic-looking car. When it had the Bridge Classic Cars logo on the side, I think it finished the rugged look off perfectly. Since being back with us, it has had its plain black sides with no branding. However, recently, glass sides were added to our Defender […]
Our latest classic Jensen restoration is finished, so our workshop manager Big John took the rare, unique, classic GT car out for its first proper drive. ”The straight-six sounded absolutely magnificent and it drove like a dream” – Feedback doesn’t get much better than that. Over the past 10 years we have become known for […]
Our workshop have welcomed a new pair of vans which will form part of our restoration workshop fleet very soon. A 2011 and 2014 Vauxhall Vivaro, which the team will be carefully going over and getting them back into proper working order.

More welding work has been completed on our 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4 Drophead Coupe.
The doors have been refitted to our MGB Roadster and they have been aligned to the car.
These photos from Ben show the newly installed brake shoes and replacement brake cylinder rubbers on our 1955 Austin Healey 100. The surface of the new shoes was lightly abraded using sandpaper by both Ben and Steve to aid the bedding-in process and ensure improved contact upon initial use. Also carried out was the fitting […]

The interior of our 1956 Sunbeam Talbot was removed in order to gain access to the gearbox. The flywheel and starter motor were replaced.
Here is what Jonn has been up to with our 1980 MG Midget: Road tested to check brakes. Operation confirmed as satisfactory; due to the absence of servo assistance, firm pedal pressure is necessary, but braking performance is as expected with new components. A noise was noted on full right-hand lock. Vehicle returned to workshop […]
Jonn prepared a new fuel tank for installation in our 1974 Triumph Stag, transferring all required components and applying foam padding to designated areas for protection. Both front hubs had seized bolts that snapped during the removal of the brake disc back plates of our 1978 Mercedes 350SL. The broken bolts were drilled out in three stages, after which the threads were cleaned using a thread tap.
Jonn inspected the threads in the cylinder head for the exhaust manifold in our 1963 Fiat 500. The upper thread initially appeared intact, as the bolt tightened correctly. However, the lower hole showed signs of thread damage. Jonn drilled and tapped the lower hole to fit a helicoil insert. He then cleaned the mating surfaces […]
Rob continued his work on our 1951 Austin Devon, fitting the starter motor and installing the dashboard with all necessary connections. The trafficators were assembled, fitted, and tested. Headlamps were also fitted.
A panel from our 1960 Jensen 541R had its external areas masked before the interior surface was coated with black satin Raptor. The car was then flatted down in preparation for polishing.
Once our 1973 MGB Roadster had been masked up in preparation to be painted, Adam applied the first colour – blue. Once dry, this was followed by the application of the silver/gold layer. Once both colour coats had dried, a clear coat was applied to complete the process.
Recent work on our 1987 Mercedes 500SL involved aligning the rear subframe assembly beneath the car and lowering the ramp to bring the assembly into position. Initial alignment on the floor proved difficult, requiring several adjustments to the angle. Once repositioned, the rear differential mount was successfully bolted up. The car was then gently raised […]
